Team Fiji rugby sevens Captain Alosio Naduva is ready to make his debut at the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.

He missed out making the Barbarian 7s team early this year due to injuries.

“This is a milestone achievement and a proud moment for me since this is my first time to play for Fiji and to captain the side as well,” he said.

The Naweni, Cakaudrove native has proved himself playing for Army Green in the local competition.

One of his memorable moments was when he scored twice in the 22-7 win over Army Red in the  Cupfinal of the 2016 Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

The other big moment for the 26-year-old was being awarded the Jonah Lomu medal for scoring seven tries for Army at the 2017 Mana Whey Coral Coast 7s.

‘We have been preparing well despite the wet weather.

“We aim to win gold. There are a lot of good teams and we are lucky to have young players who have joined the team who can help us win.

Naduva also aims to be part of the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s side for the World Sevens Series.

The Saiasi Fuli-coached Team Fiji sevens rugby aim to defend the gold medal.
