UNIVERSITY OF FIJI : Graduating Prosecutor Chetty Acknowledges Police Commissioner

Lautoka Police Prosecutor Corporal Munsami Chetty has thanked the Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho for giving officers like him time to pursue further studies in their respective fields.
Corporal Chetty was one among the many students who graduated at the University of Fiji’s Saweni Campus in Lautoka yesterday.
Corporal Chetty said through the Commissioner’s approval, the achievement in attaining a law degree will flow on and benefit the Police Prosecutions Office.
“I am so happy that I have been able to complete this course and I look forward to going further to attain high qualifications,” he said.
“My aim is to be admitted to the Bar and I know I can achieve that.”
Corporal Chetty said the knowledge which he has received will now help him prosecute offenders better.
“On the whole, I am taking this back to the prosecutions and see that I help in lifting the standards to another level.”
He said he owed a lot to the guidance of Divisional Police Prosecutor West ASP Anil Kumar and Lautoka Police Prosecutions officer in charge Inspector Paul Taito.
“I thank my family and wife Doreen for being there for me always.”
He said he had to study through nights, but his determination to achieve his goals paid off in the end.
“It was hard, but when you put your mind to something it will work out.”
