Vodafone Fijian Bati captain Kevin Naiqama is ever grateful to fans for their never ending support during their 2017 Rugby League World Cup journey.

He made this known while delivering his speech during the celebration at Albert Park, Suva, yesterday.

Naiqama said the side captured the hearts of rugby league fans throughout this year’s World Cup as they went on to beat Tier one nation, New Zealand in the quarterfinal.

“On behalf of my fellow brothers I would like to thank the support of the people of Fiji for their endless, love and prayers throughout our world cup campaign,” Naiqama said.

“And it made me nothing happier than making our people here proud with our performance at the world cup.

“Also, as captain of the side, it’s one of the most cherished moments especially beating New Zealand during the quarterfinal. It is one of our best wins. “Making it this far in the RLWC wouldn’t be possible without  hardwork, commitment and going on the right pathway which I’m very appreciative of.”

Meanwhile, Jarryd Hayne flew in on Friday to part of the celebration.

It is understood that Hayne could be returing to his former NRL club Parramatta Eels after he was released by Gold Coast Titans.
