Rewa House won the Queen Victoria School Old Boys Druavesi Golf tournament having a combined score of 117.65.

Fifteen teams comprising over 65 golfers participated in the 18 holes 25th tournament at the Fiji Golf Club on Friday.

Tovata House came second (118), Verata third  (121) and Bau House fourth (126.25).

Rewa House was captained by Niumaia Tabunakawai and ably assisted Filimoni Jitoko.

Tovata House was captained by Bank South Pacific Life managing director Malakai Naiyaga.

Bau House was captained by Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto while Verata House was led by former Reserve Bank of Fiji Governor Savenaca Narube.

Apart from the 65 participants, old scholars attending tertiary institution volunteered to assist in the organisation and also caddie for their House Teams providing moral support and learning the sport.

Tournament participants benefited from other noble activities in addition to the 18 holes of golf.

Jope Tuivanuavou an old boy and a prostate cancer champion shared the need for men to see the reality and its impact on family.

In recognition of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama chairmanship at the recent COP23 which was held in Bonn Germany, 10 Yasi trees  were planted by Ema Druavesi (Druavesi family), AnasaVocea (QVSOB), Dr Tukaha Mua (Bau), Filimoni Jitoko (Rewa), Ratu Isoa Gavidi (Verata), Koresi Koyamaibole (Tovata), Kelera Watling (ACSOG), Sai Yee (BMSOG), Saula Rayawa (RKSOB), Opetaia Ravai (MBHSOB).

“It is such an honour to be able to host members and alumni of other schools in our annual Druavesi tournament,”QVSOB’s Cagi Raimuria said.

“A huge thank you goes out to the sponsors who helped make the 25th tournament an exciting and successful fundraising event. They are Pacific Energy (SWP) Limited, FIJI Water, BSP Life Limited, Digicel Fiji Limited, Ricoh Business Solutions, Gold Rock Fiji Limited.
