The 22-year-old man involved in an alleged hit-and-run and high speed chase in Suva on Friday was questioned and released yesterday.

This was confirmed by Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro.

Ms Naisoro said a breathlyser test was conducted and found him not to be intoxicated.

She said another man was also questioned and released.

The assistance of a taxi driver employed by Tiko Kece Taxis led to the arrest of the suspect who allegedly hit a 12-year-old girl before fleeing the scene at Colo-i-Suva.

It resulted in a chase by some 20 Tiko Kece taxi drivers who assisted Police in apprehending the suspect at Richards Road, Nasese.

The victim is still recovering at CWM Hospital.
