A Helipro Fiji helicopter yesterday flew through bad weather conditions to airlift two people who needed immediate medical assistance from the North to CWM Hospital in Suva.

A three-year-old child from Dreketi who required specialist pediatric care was earlier airlifted.

Helipro Fiji chief executive officer Graeme Hedge confirmed that by midday the air ambulance service provider again airlifted a man in his 20s from Savusavu.

The man had a severe chest wound and required low altitude flight, he said.

“Both patients required medical care during medevac flights,” Mr Hedge said.

“The Helipro Fiji land ambulance and medics assisted with the transfer of the patients from the landing area to CWM Hospital.”
