Muslims around the country celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s birthday today.

It is one of the important events in the Muslim calendar around the world.

Today, Muslims remember the love and care shared by Prophet Mohammed. It is also a time of reflection to commemorate his life as founder of Islam.

Muslims believe that Islam is a faith that has always existed and that it was gradually revealed to humanity by a number of prophets, but the final and complete revelation of the faith was made through the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century Common Era (CE).

Muhammad was born in Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 570.

The national milad-un-nabi jaba (the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad) is celebrated at Lautoka’s Churchill Park at 10am today. Programme: Inside.
