Three more people have applied for tickets in the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) as hopeful candidates in the 2018 General Election.

Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka said the three applicants would be later interviewed but one would represent the North.

Mr Rabuka was speaking during a SODELPA meeting at Diamond Theatre in Labasa on Saturday night.

“We have received three applications from here in the North and once they come over for an interview, we will then pick one out of the three who will later represent the North,” he said.

“These three Fijian Indian descendants had also requested if they could be included in the list of candidates,” he said.

He added that 97 applicants were received by the party, of which, 51 had been approved.

“The meeting was only meant to have members of the committee but since there are more of us present here we will then have to keep the names for next week,” he said.

“The list of names is confidential information that is only meant for committee members.”

Mr Rabuka has been touring various parts of Vanua Levu for SODELPA supporters in the North.
