A 34-year-old farmer was airlifted from Savusavu Sub-divisional Hospital to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva on Sunday af­ter he was allegedly stabbed.

This was confirmed by Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro yes­terday.

The alleged incident happened on Saturday night at Koroivonu Village in Cakaudrove province.

“The victim was at home with his children when he heard the suspect calling out his name from outside his house.

“The circumstances that led to the alleged incident is still not known right now as we are yet to talk to the victim,” Ms Nai­soro said.

She also said the victim was then taken to the Tukavesi Health Centre and later trans­ferred to Savusavu Sub-divi­sional Hospital.

He was then airlifted to the CWM Hospital.

He is currently admitted at the acute surgical ward.
