Archbishop of the Diocese of Polynesia Winston Halapua thanked Anglican followers in Vanua Levu for raising a man clearly gifted for the work of God.

Archbishop Halapua said this at the ordination of Bishop Henry Bull, the new head of the Vanua Levu and Taveuni Episcopal. He took over from Bishop Apimeleki Qiliho who retired.

More than 200 people congregated at the St Mary’s compound to witness the ordination in Labasa yesterday.

“Today with Henry Bull being ordained, he is the first bishop of Vanua Levu who hails from the island,” Archbishop Halapua said.

‘We also thank the people of Vanua Levu for producing a son that God has gifted to fulfil the calling from above.

“It is a great moment for the church when he was ordained today and this is another milestone achievement of the church.

“The Anglican church in Vanua Levu and Dreketi has grown in the North and mostly where Bishop Bull is based,” he said.

“God have been using him mightily in winning souls to the kingdom of God and we will continue to preach about the love of our great God.

Bishop Bull, he said, is a loving husband and father to six children.

“As a father, he is great an exemplary, he is very hard working and is a Christ like character,” he added.
