Team Fiji men’s sprinter Shane Tuvusa is ready to face the biggest challenge of his career at the Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

Tuvusa who arrived into Port Vila on Saturday night is billed to take on the top sprinters in the Pacific this week.

“I’m looking forward to it and I’m ready for the challenge,” he said.

With the retirement of former Pacific sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro, the hopes of the nation now rests on the Natalacake, Ba native.

“My goal in this Mini Games is to improve on my time and also enjoy the game in Vanuatu.”

The 20-year-old will be running in the 100 and 200 metres events.

He clocked 10.53s in winning this year’s 100m in the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics competition.

“I will just wait on game day, then we will do the talking,” he added.
