Uto takes hat off for staff members

Nine staff members of the Fiji National University Labasa Campus were commended for their hard work throughout the year during an awards night on Saturday.
Acting campus administrator Seidiuta Uto said the excellent services the campus provided to the students were because of the outstanding commitment by staff members.
“I am happy to be given the opportunity to lead what I call the ‘best team’ and being able to provide the best services,” Ms Uto said.
“Together, we have made the Labasa Campus not only where students can further pursue their studies; but also a second home, where they mingle with friends and can produce quality services provided by the university.
“The team would always look for ways to take an extra mile for students and I believe that is what make students unique at a time when being different is critical.”
Staff members were treated to dinner and items by children of the university’s staff. It was also a Christmas get together for many of them.
The administration also recognised the work done by its caretakers.
“Many times we tend to forget the work carried out by caretakers, so tonight we wanted to recognise them of the work that they have been carrying out at the campus,” she said.
“They are the ones who keep the campus clean and neat.
“Thanks to all staff for the achievements and the goals that were achieved by the campus this year.
