The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team are going to face Cape Town 7s champions New Zealand and Samoa in  what is termed as the ‘pool of death’ in the Sydney Sevens in Australia which is on January 26-28, next year. The Fijians are seeded second in Pool A and also joining them is Russia

Last weekend the Gareth Baber coached-side came fifth in the Cape Town 7s after losing narrowly to South Africa 31-26 in the Cup quarterfinals. The side regrouped and went on to beat England 19-12 in the 5th place semifinal before dumping USA 26-12. Another highlight of Fiji’s performance was when Amenoni Nasilasila topped the performance tracker.

New Zealand dumped Argentina 38-14 in the Cup final to displace South Africa at the top of World Sevens Series standings.
