The Commander of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) Brigadier-General Gilbert Toropo paid Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto a courtesy visit at the RFMF Strategic Headquarters last Thursday.

After discussions with Rear Admiral Naupoto the two exchanged gifts.

Brigadier-General Toropo who was also an invited guest at the RFMF Band Centennial Anniversary and Military Tattoo last Friday was accorded a ‘Quarter Guard’ led by Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Support Company Sergeant Etuate Najoritani.

The Commander of the PNGDF was ushered on a tour of the military installations around the Suva – Nasinu corridor as part of the visitation programme.

He was hosted to a buffet lunch by the Commander Land Forces Command Colonel Onisivoro Covunisaqa and Senior Officers of the RFMF at the Officers Mess last Friday.

Brigadier-General Gilbert Toropo was announced as the commander of the PNGDF on January 9, 2014, replacing outgoing Brigadier-General Francis Agwi who had reached the end of his period in the office.
