Team Fiji boxing started their Pacific Mini Games suffering two losses in the 60kg and the 75kg weight divisions on Tuesday.

Pauliasi Ratu Jnr lost to Samoa’s Nuu’uli Mose in the 60kg weight division on unanimous points decision while Josefa Ravudi lost to Vanuatu’s Lui Sivas in the 75kg category on points.

Ravudi thought he won and Team Fiji boxing management Pauliasi Ratu Snr and manager Manueli Tuinakelo wants clarification.

“I will not be able to comment on the boxing matter, but I do understand that Ratu and Tuinakelo have taken it up during their managers meeting,”Chef De Mission Wayne O’Connor said.

Competitions continued yesterday with Fiji’s Olympian Winston Hill taking on Vanuatu’s Martin Naiu in the 69kg weight division followed by Tina Ruata fighting Vanuatu’s Zorro Robert Waritam in the 81kg division.
