Team Fiji athletics sprinters Francis Kirikirikula and his twin siblings Elenoa Sailosi and Vilisoni Rarasea only have one thing in mind- win medals for Fiji during the Pacific Mini Games.

“We never thought of being part of Team Fiji,”Kirikirikula said.

“We competed against each other during the Coca- Cola Games and back then, we did not even know that we were related. We were not even aware that we were siblings.

“When I was running for Queen Victoria School (QVS) I did not even know that Sailosi who was running for Adi Cakobau School (ACS) is my sister and Rarasea representing Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) is my brother.

“I got to know Rarasea first but for Sailosi we were a bit reluctant and nervous because I only knew her as the sprinter back then and not as my sister.”

Fate brought them together when Kirikirikula sustained an injury during the Coke Games, and that was when everything just fell into place.

But once they had known each other, the bond grew stronger as they helped each other out during their training.

“Now we are all aiming to win medals for Fiji and that is what we are working towards,” Sailosi said.

Kirikirikula featured in the 200m heats while Sailosi and Rarasea will feature in the 4x100m and 4x400m finals.

According to Rarasea, their youngest sister Braelynn Yee was also supposed to be part of Team Fiji but she had study commitments.
