The Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Iliesa Delana visited the Nasinu Youth club in Labasa on Wednesday.

Mr Delana met members of the youth group to hear their views and concerns about youth development during his tour in the Northern Division.

“It is indeed pleasing to meet with respective youth clubs and get first-hand information on the concerns and issues they might be facing,” Mr Delana said.

“The visit is to encourage and motivate youth club members to become productive and be knowledgeable on the types of Government services available to them particularly through the Ministry of Youth and Sports.”

Mr Delana further reiterated Government’s commitment in encouraging young men and women to become productive and vibrant future leaders.

“Government is encouraging young men and women to become more productive as you will be the future leaders of our country,” he said.

“You need to do your part first, and then you can always request the Ministry to assist you in your business ventures.”

Nasinu Youth Club Vice President Diren Chand, said the club was pleased with the Assistant Minister’s visit.

“We are very happy and pleased that the Assistant Minister visited us this evening,” he said.

“He is the first Minister to ever visit our community. We are now looking forward to working closely with the Ministry and doing projects in the areas of agriculture like bee and yaqona farming as well as screen printing for the young women.”
