Melea Waqa, 57, is sticking to her budget during this Christmas break because there is bound to be lots of deals and sale that shops will put on for their customers.

Mrs Waqa was at the RB Patel Nadi shop and she was making some last minute purchases on Wednesday before rushing to the Denarau marina to board the boat to take her home to Yaro Levu Village on Mana Island.

“I like shopping here because this is where I’ve always bought my groceries and it’s reasonably priced also,” Mrs Waqa said.

She said she also liked the customer service and appreciated how the shop attendants were friendly.

Despite other supermarkets putting up specials, Mrs Waqa always shops there because they always have specials almost everyday.

“You know that I am old and so whenever I come here, the people here always come and ask if I need help and if I ask for something, they go and make sure they bring it to me,” she said.

The mother of five said this Christmas would be a quiet family affair.

“Four of my children and their families will join me on Mana for the special day. My husband passed away in 2005 and so it’s just me and my children and grandchildren.

“We a planning to do a lovo, and my children will cook their special dishes, so I’m looking forward to it. And of course, I am definitely looking forward to seeing my grandchildren.

“And we will come back and do our Christmas shopping here at RB Patel. It’s cheap, it’s convenient and it has a wide variety of goods to choose from. They practically have everything that you need for your home.”
