Acting Prime Minister Mereseini Vuniwaqa and Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Jiko Luveni joined the Chinese community and guests during the 2nd Anniversary celebration of the China Cultural Centre.

At Ganilau House, China Cultural Centre in Fiji director Xianfu Deng said: “This shows the great support of both governments in cultural exchange between China and Fiji.”

The centre was opened on December 15, 2015.

The centre serves as a window for Fijian people to look into China and its culture as a platform for cultural exchange and co-operation between China and Fiji, and a bridge for deepening the understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

He said for the past two years they had sponsored more than 60 Fijians to visit China on a cultural experience.

In the past two years it also has collaborated with Fiji Museum, Suva City Carnegie Library, International School Suva, Adi Cakobau School and Yat Sen School to demonstrate Chinese culture and interaction.
