Court Remands Couple On Murder Charge

A couple charged with the murder of a casual worker of Vatuwaqa were further remanded by the High Court in Suva yesterday.

Noa Ravanasau, 35, and Melaci Tikomairarotoga, 25, appeared before Justice Riyaz Hamza and were represented by Legal Aid lawyer Talei Kean.

They are charged with one count each of murder.

The alleged incident occurred at about 6:15am on November 30 this year at the Total Service Station car park at Victoria Parade where the duo are alleged to have recklessly assaulted the 30-year-old  resulting in his death.

Justice Riyaz granted time to the state to file and serve information and disclosures to the defence.

The case has been adjourned to December 19 for mention before judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

Both accused were further remanded in custody pending bail.
