Nadi Football AGM endorses way forward

The Nadi Football Association has set the target to win the 2018 Vodafone Premier League.
This was discussed during the Nadi FA’s annual general meeting at Nadi Sangam School yesterday.
Nadi FA president Javed Ahmed said apart from winning the Premier League, they’ve passed new motions brought before them by their members relating to changes in their club competitions and the setting-up of development centres.
“Our club competition starts in February and the competition will be played for 90 minutes instead of 60,” he said.
“Similar to the English Football Cup, we’ll have two teams who will be the winners of the premier division and senior division contesting for a Cup as well. The new changes will make our club competition more interesting and competitive.”
Ahmed confirmed that they would open eight centres from Nawai to Sabeto areas to develop their future football players.
Meanwhile, two new vice-presidents were appointed during the AGM. Shiva Goundar has been confirmed to the post while Naveen Chand comes in as a new vice-president. They will serve a two-year term.
