Oldies Reminded To Stay Fit

The next round of the Fiji Masters Rugby 10s round robin competition is to be played on January 27, 2018 at Mount Saint Mary’s ground in Martintar, Nadi.
Event coordinator Epineri Susu said they are expecting around 10 teams to take part and players have been advised to stay fit during the festive season.
“This is the January version of the round robin challenge and since we’re in the festive season this could be a build-up towards the main tournament,” he said.
“This will also help remind players to stay fit, to mind their food intake and drink responsibly.
“Health and fitness should be the main priority. The event is to promote fairness and good sportsmanship to all players and we wish everyone a merry Christmas.”
He added the competition has helped reunite former national and provincial rugby players who are leading the charge in promoting the importance of family values.
Teams that are likely to play are Big Bula Water Park Oldies, Malolo and Water Authority of Fiji who have fielded former rugby greats like Viliame Satala, Samu Saumaisue, Niko Qoro and many more.
Susu is requesting teams to provide proper IDs for 38-year-olds and over or anyone born before December 31, 1980.
The cash prizes are as follows, winners receive $500, 1st runner-up $200 and all participating teams will pocket $100.
