Soldier Admits To Driving Under The Influence Of Liquor

A 46-year-old soldier, who admitted to a charge of driving under the influence of liquor, will be sentenced on December 21 by the Suva Magistrates Court.
Viliame Talebulamainaivaluesolomoni, 46, appeared before Magistrate Deepika Prakash yesterday and the summary of facts of his case was read out by Police prosecutor Inspector Jitendra Singh.
He pleaded guilty to a charge each of breach of alcohol limit, driving a motor vehicle without being the holder of a valid driving licence and contravention to the third party policy risks. On September 29 this year at about 4:21am the accused was arrested along Karsanji Street in Vatuwaqa for driving under the influence of liquor and that his licence had expired on September 23, 2017.
In mitigation, he stated that he is married with three children and earns $463 per fortnight. He sought forgiveness from the court for his actions. Talebulamainaivaluesolomoni had his bail extended.
