Three security officers of the Fiji Sports Council will re-appear at the Suva Magistrates Court today charged with theft.

The trio Pita Kamoe, Kameli Matai and Torika Usakilakeba are alleged to have stolen 250 military tattoo tickets worth $15 each.

The alleged incident happened on December 8. The total value of the stolen tickets was $3750.

Police prosecutor Corporal Sanil Kumar objected to bail on the grounds that as security officers the trio had breached the trust of the Sports Council by committing the alleged offence.

A Legal Aid lawyer who appeared for them stated that the three accused were first offenders and even though the prosecution objected to bail, the charge was only an allegation.

Magistrate Joji Boseiwaqa released them on a $300 bail with an additional $300 surety bond.

They were instructed to re-appear in court today to finalise their sureties.

Magistrate Boseiwaqa advised them not to commit a crime while on bail and not to interfere with state prosecution witnesses.

He also ordered them not to change their residential addresses while on bail.

All three accused requested for Legal Aid representation.

The case is adjourned to today.
