Special Treat For Golfers In Lautoka

Lautoka Golf Club will host more than 70 golfers from around the country for the Gecko Trucking and P Meghji Limited Pro-Am tournament this weekend.

Club chairman of trustees Raymond Singh said the club was geared to end the season in style with a treat for those participating.

The event, an 18 holes stroke event has attracted some of Fiji’s best, both amateur and professional golfers.

“I would like to thank Wela Pillay and Romit Meghji for their support,”Singh said.

“They have continually sponsored and supported our junior golf programme at the club and which has seen a rise in youngsters wanting to play golf.

“The cream of local amateurs and professionals will be playing for top honours and this includes national rep and Lautoka Open champion Abid Hussein and Tomasi Tuivuna.”

Singh said junior and the women golfers will also be part of the event.

The one day event will be rounded off with a special prize presentation and a Christmas lovo dinner.

The club’s 2017 champion, Summer Cup winner would also be rewarded during the after match function.

“We have organised and set up this event to also acknowledge the support from golfers for the Lautoka Golf Club.”
