Mani: 150 Temporary Vacancies Advertised

Air Terminal Services is embarking on an exercise to recruit people on a temporary basis to help replace absent personnel.

This was confirmed by chief executive officer Hare Mani yesterday as more workers signed letters of admission and resumed work.

“As a responsible organisation and under these adverse operating conditions, it is incumbent on ATS to continually review its manpower and other resource needs so that this important gateway Nadi International Airport is open at all times it is required to.”

An advertisement in today’s Fiji Sun on Page 71 says: “ATS requires 150 staff, with a three months temporary employment term.”

The positions and role descriptions are clearly stated in the vacancy requirement.

Air Terminal Services is the main provider of international ground handling services and inflight catering at Nadi International Airport.

Mr Mani said: “Our contingencies are working out very well with the huge support from the stakeholders here which includes Airports Fiji Ltd, Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji, our national carrier Fiji Airways, Air New Zealand, Virgin, Jetstar, Korean, Air Niugini and the various hotel properties.

“I am happy to report that the airport is still open and planes are still flying.”

On the workers, he said: “We have signed a few yesterday and some are trickling in slowly.

“I am yet to confirm the exact number because while we speak people are in contact with my operational managers.”
