Some of the former Queen Victoria School students from 2006 to 2008 class got a surprise visit from Wallabies winger Henry Speight at Caubati, Nasinu yesterday.

The former students were preparing for their annual break-up party when Speight joined them.

Speight’s uncle and former QVS schoolmate Uraia Vecenadavui Jnr said it was a joyous occasion because for some of them they had not met Speight since they parted ways back in 2006.

“It has been after 11 years since I last saw him, which was way back in Queen Victoria School and it is wonderful to see him again after all this time,” the former Fijian Under-20 rep said.

He said it was always a special occasion when Victorian brothers met whether it be after one week, one year or a decade, the bond would always be there.

“For us Speight is our brother, it goes all across the board, no matter how far we get in life, when we meet we are all equal. A classic example of this is what he just did here, coming in, just imagine a Wallaby helping out with the lovo preparations with his fellow Victorians.”

Vecenadavui along with some of Speight’s cousins Nacanieli Uqeuqe all played together from the Under-14 to the U19 grades for QVS in the Deans Trophy competition.

“Well we understand that he could not be here due to family commitments but the fact he dropped by to have a chat with us was enough for us. We wish him, his family and all the Victorian families out there a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” he added
