45-year-old Mother’s Prayer For Christmas Goodies Answered

The prayer of a 45-year-old mother in Labasa for the provision of Christmas goodies for her and her 14-year-old son was answered when three members of the Raiderz Club visited them with groceries.
Namara Squatter Settlement resident Gita Wati said getting some extras for Christmas was impossible with her social welfare allowance, so she did what she knew and prayed.
“I couldn’t afford to buy tin fruit, juice or fruit cake because it is very expensive and I only had money to buy necessary food items to survive through the week,” Ms Wati said.
“So I prayed to the Lord to bless me with Christmas goodies so that my son and I can sit and enjoy instead of looking at the four walls.
“I was so surprised Rajneel Maharaj, Sanjay Kamal and Nadeem Niyaz on behalf of other members presenting me with Christmas groceries.”
Ms Wati said the club had been very supportive for her family.
“Few months ago they helped in purchasing my housing material and helped in completing the construction.
“I am forever grateful to them.”
Ms Wati said she had experienced so many losses in her life.
A few years ago her daughter died in a car accident and later her husband left her behind with her son.
Raiderz Club founder Rajneel Maharaj said Ms Wati was one of the four households in Labasa to receive Christmas groceries from the club.
“The club has been providing Christmas packages to the poorest of the poor families in Labasa for more than two years,” Mr Maharaj said.
“We want to help as much as we can so that these families can sit down to eat and enjoy Christmas.”
