Driti Spends Christmas At Home

Former military Land Force Commander Lieutenant-Colonel Pita Driti is one of the 20 Corrections inmates on weekend release. He is spending Christmas with his family at Wailoku.
He was picked, from Korovou Corrections Centre in Suva yesterday, by his wife who did not wish to comment when approached by the Fiji Sun.
Inmates on weekend release were selected from all the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) centres in Fiji.
The Commissioner of FCS, Commander Francis Kean, said the inmates eligible for weekend release had submitted their application to their respective supervisors.
Commander Kean had appointed the Allocation and Classification Board headed by Deputy Commissioner Jo Kulinidilo to look into all the applications and make a decision.
Mr Kulinidilo said those released had a clean record and met the temporary release criteria.
The 20 inmates met the criteria set by the board and the families would be responsible for their transportation from whichever Corrections centre they were serving their sentence.
Upon their release family members would sign the release form.
Three inmates from Korovou were on weekend release.
All inmates on weekend release will be back at the Correctional Institutions they were serving their sentence in on December 27.
