Ronald Naidu, number one contender in welterweight division, has come out of his shell to challenge Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh in the New Year.

“I am challenging Sebastian Singh either in the lightweight and welterweight division. I need some good opponents and Singh is the one on my mind,” he said.

Naidu, who has maternal links to Verata, Tailevu, is known for his hard hitting blows. He has recorded six wins out of 10 fights since his debut in September, 2011.

“I have fought some good boxers but only Sebastian Singh is left. I know he will give a lot of excuses.

“I hope to do better with quality opponents in 2018,” the 26 year old said.

Meanwhile, undefeated Siliveni Nawai dubbed ‘Hands of Stone’ is also keeping a tab on Singh if he can contest the middleweight category 66-69 kg.

Similarly Navosa slugger Abhay Chand, 38 of Draiba, with a career of 39 fights (won 20, 15 losses) since debut in 2000 also challenges Singh for the middleweight (72.5kg).

He thanked their traditional major sponsors Mana Flyer Cruises (Fiji) managing director Rakesh Krishna.

Meanwhile, Mulomulo Boxing Club founder/Manager Chanchal Kumar Babba flew out of the country yesterday to Sydney, Australia in a bid to secure some fights for his boxers.

He intends to bring some Australian boxers to fight in a Boxing Commission of Fiji sanctioned fight.

“I am going to Australian and part of this trip is to secure some boxers to fight here or abroad in 2018,” he said.
