After achieving a pass in her Fiji Year 10 Examination result, Ana Toroca shed tears openly when she was congratulated with hugs and kisses from her sisters.

The 16-year-old dedicated the achievement to her mother, who was a source of inspiration.

“I feel that all the hard work and late night study have paid off. This is for my mother, who single handedly raised me and my aunty who encouraged and motivated me,” the Gospel High School student said.

“I was not really expecting this result, but I am glad that I did. It is good that the results came out early because this gives me ample time to decide which subjects to take next year.”

Ana commended the many people who contributed to her achievement.

“I am the youngest in my family and compared with my siblings I got the highest mark for the Year 10 Examination,” she said.

“I want to be a pilot and this is a stepping stone in my life. I will work hard so that I can repay those who have been there for me throughout my years in school.”

Ana is looking forward to the start of school next year.
