Mani: 20 ATS Workers Return, Join Those Working

Among the group that walked off their jobs at Air Teminal Services 20 have since returned to work.

They joined the workers who did not stop work and who have maintained groundhandling services as normal at Nadi International Airport.

Their return was confirmed by chief executive officer Hare Mani yesterday.

“As of today, those who have returned to work after signing the letter of admission stating that they had done wrong for walking off their jobs, have totaled 20,” Mr Mani said.

“We want them to come back but they need to realise their end of the deal and sign the letter.”

Mediation came to a standstill yesterday but there is hope that progress will be made today.

“The resolution will depend on a lot of factors. Factors that we cannot discuss because these are things before the mediation team at the moment,” he said.

Meanwhile, interviews for the short-term vacancies left vacant by the protesting workers will be done today.

Protesting workers continued to push for backpay and a pay rise and were demanding the removal of Mr Mani and his management team.

Air Terminal Services is the main provider of groundhandling for international airlines using Nadi International Airport.
