The Turtle Airways Beaver (DHC-2) seaplane which sank in waters off Nadi on Christmas Eve has been fully salvaged.

The body of the aircraft was removed yesterday from where it sunk. The propeller was salvaged on Wednesday.

All Engineering Limited and stakeholders conducted the exercise.

In an earlier interview, Turtle Airways managing director Richard Evanson Jr said that Turtle Airways was taking care to ensure the safe salvaging of the aircraft.

Investigations continue to determine the cause of the incident because it was reported that the seaplane had encountered problems during take-off.

Five passengers and a pilot were on board at the time of the accident.

Queries sent to Mr Evanson Jr were yet to be received when this edition went to press.
