Babasiga Lions want to win CvC opener

The Labasa football side are in good form to face Lautoka in the Pillay Garment’s Champion verses Champion series, says a senior team official.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Labasa Football Association vice- president Rohinil Chand said they are looking forward to host Lautoka next Saturday.
He was at the ground to support the team as they went through their training drills.
“We’ve the same team that played in the Inter- District Championship and also during the Vodafone Premier League competition,” he said.
“The players came together and started training two weeks ago and right now they are all present. They have been training under the guidance of the team officials.”
Chand said they are expecting their newly appointed coach to join them next week.
During the Courts IDC the Babasiga Lions were coached by Fiji Football Association’s development officer Iosefo Vosaboto.
“We are not underestimating Lautoka because like any other team they have been preparing well for the clash. Nevertheless, we are hopeful of a good outing and to come out victorious.”
Chand has called on their fans to come out in numbers and support the team.
The first clash is set for 1pm next Saturday, January 6, at Subrail Park, Labasa while the return match is to be played at Churchill Park, Lautoka on Friday, January 12 at 7pm. – Edited by Leone Cabenatabua
