The Nasinu Magistrates Court has remanded in custody a 27-year-old electronic technician charged with a count of obtaining financial advantage by deception.

Ferrel Farizal Khan appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza on Thursday and requested to be represented by a Legal Aid Commission lawyer after his rights were read out to him in court.

On September 7 this year he is alleged to have obtained $450 cash by deception from the complainant on the pretext that he would provide the person with speakers and spare parts.

Police prosecutor Constable Setareki Mocevakaca served the accused with full phase disclosures in court.

He also objected to Khan’s bail on the ground that the accused had pending cases.

Magistrate Hamza adjourned the case to January 2 next year for mention.
