Race Ends ‘17 Season

The Fiji Car Club completed the 2017 season with the Pacific Energy quarter-mile drag race at the Nanuku Aerodrome in Pacific Harbour, Deuba yesterday.
The closure was their bid of bringing the members together before the New Year. A total of 36 cars took to the tracks for their sixth drag race event.
Fiji Car Club president Raizal Haniff said he was happy with the turnout and the commitment showed by their 276 members throughout the year.

“We have identified some race cars that can match overseas racers in Australia and New Zealand,” Haniff said.
“Some cars have sliced their times by one second which indicated an improvement and the amount of work put in by the owners.”
Haniff said these were positive signs in terms of the growth of motor sport in the country.
“Motorsports in Fiji is growing and the response we’ve been getting is really good.”
Haniff also thanked their major sponsor Pacific Energy for their endless support
