DVRO Placed On 25-year-old Man
An interim domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) was issued against a 25-year-old man yesterday after he appeared in court for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Farook Mohammed did not object to bail, however requested for a restraining order to be issued.
Sergeant Mohammed also served the accused with full phase disclosures.
The accused was charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The alleged incident happened on December 21 last year in Suva.
Defence counsel stated that the accused and the complainant were residing at different residential addresses.
Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa while announcing bail ordered the accused to refrain from interfering with prosecution witnesses.
Magistrate Boseiwaqa advised his surety to ensure that the accused appeared on all court dates. The case was adjourned to February 14, 2018.
