The Bua Horse Racing Association first race is set for June.
The race track in Lekutu, Bua is being upgraded.
“We are expecting new participants from Cakaudrove and Macuata to join the competition this year,”Association’s treasurer Mohammed Janif said.
“Bua is the only place in Vanua Levu where horse race is being held. In the past two years, there has been good interest from young and old participants.”
Janif said this year they planned to have four races.
“One of the major challenges that we are currently facing is funding the upgrade of the race track,”Janif said.
We are pleading to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to help in the development of the race course.”
