Former Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy is assisting the Babasiga Lions for the Pillay’s Garments Champion vs Champion series against Lautoka at Subrail Park on Saturday.

This was confirmed by the Labasa Football Association secretary Varun Anand yesterday.

“Reddy will only be helping the team prepare for the CVC as we are yet to secure a fulltime coach,” Anand said.

“We are very grateful to have Reddy, a primary school teacher who is currently on holiday willing to assist us.”

Reddy trained the players at Subrail Park in Labasa as from Tuesday.

Anand has confirmed three key players will not be joining the side for the first match.

“Anish Khem is injured, Edwin Sahayam is on a holiday as he recently got married and Amani Makoi is suspended for a red card offence,” Anand said.

“Nevertheless, we have other players who have teamed up looking for a good outing.

“We hope good weather will prevail and many fans will come forward to support Labasa.”

The match is at 1pm at Subrail Park.
