Squash Juniors For Oz Champs

Squash Fiji will begin 2018 year by reaffirming its commitment to junior development at the grassroots levels.
Squash Fiji has selected four of its most promising juniors to represent the country to the Oceania Squash Federation’s Junior Championships to be held in Redcliffe, Queensland on January 11-14 and to the Australian Junior Championships in Gold Coast on January 18-21.
Savusavu’s Saneel Chhaganlal (U16), Ratu Jone Fugawai (U13), Eka TabaKaucoro (U16) and New Zealand based Zonal Ali (U17) will be travelling to Brisbane next week with national team manager, Dinesh Narayan to participate in the Oceania event.
“This event will play a crucial part in the player’s development as they will be exposed to a high level of competition and will also be take part in several special coaching clinics while in Australia,”Narayan said.
“For Saneel, Ratu Jone and Eka it will be the first time to compete as an age group championship, while it give Zonal a chance to test himself against other top ranked juniors from the Oceania Region. All these players are being groomed for future national representation and is part of Squash Fiji’s long term goals to identify and develop players at a young age.”
