Swami Vivekananda College (SVC) Ex-Scholars Association is introducing a new kind of interacting forum for its former scholars, teachers and friends in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

Speed Dating is set on February 10.

According to Wikipedia, Speed dating is a formalised matchmaking process or a dating system that aims to encourage people to meet a large number of new people.

Association chairperson Vineel Nand said: “The entire event will be promoted in an aspect whereby all cultures and ethnic groups and individuals will actively participate.

“You never know, you could always meet that special person without all the mystery of knowing if they are involved or not.”

The venue will be announced at a later date.

How it works

-Volunteers are welcomed by a host and will be given a scorecard and name badge.

-Once speed daters have arrived the host will get them to sit at a table with the same number as the badge they are wearing

-The host will guide them through how the event works

-After 3-5 minutes the host will ask each person to move on to the next person and the process will continually be repeated until each person reaches the last person he/she has to meet.
