Driver Escapes Serious Injuries After Vehicle Plunges Into River
Vendors at the nearby roadside market helped overturn a vehicle and got the driver out after he was involved in an accident at Nokonoko Road, Laucala Beach, Suva yesterday.
It is understood the vehicle the man drove went off Nokonoko Road and turned into the river near what is known as the Bailey Bridge Fish Market.
He was examined at the Valelevu Health Centre. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the man in his mid 20s was in a stable condition.
A market vendor, who wished to remain anonymous, said vendors at the nearby roadside market responded quickly to get the driver out.
When Fiji Sun arrived at the Valelevu Health Centre, medical professionals advised that the man was already discharged in a stable condition.
