Skylink Natabua Beez Under- 19 rugby sevens team, hope to improve their performance during the Uprising Youth 7s tournament which is on January 17-20 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

The Sela Ratudradra coached- side marched into camp last weekend and are optimistic of reaching the Cup quarterfinals.

“Last year we reached the bowl quarterfinals as most of the boys played for the first time,” he said.

“This year we’ve five players who were part of the squad last year. Apart from them we have other young players aged between 17 to 18 years who are very passionate about rugby.”

Ratudradra added that they had drawn up their training programme and were following it very closely.

“We’ve a training programme in place and while they are not camping they have been following it in order to prepare them when they get back into camp,” he added.

Ratudradra has advised his players that rugby can also be a profession since most of them are high school dropouts.

The club over the years have produced former national sevens reps like Jioji Ragamate, Olympian Jasa Veremalua and France based- Metuisela Talebula. –
