The swift flow of traffic along the Nausori-Suva morning traffic enjoyed over the past weeks will soon come to an end.

With the start of the new school year next Monday, motorists and commuters should expect an increase in traffic congestion.

Even with the opening of the Vatuwaqa Bridge tomorrow, the Fiji Police Force Traffic Unit anticipate more vehicles on the road come Monday.

Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahesh Mishra said the public should act responsibly.

Police officers will be positioned at certain junctions to ease the traffic flow.

SSP Mishra also called on parents and guardians to adopt best practices when on the road.

“Whatever the adults are doing, the children will do the same.”

Following are some tips from SSP Mishra:

Plan your trip

Be patient

Do not rush

Be vigilant

Adopt best road practice
