Three Players Join Ba

Three overseas players Amal Singh, Nathan Brown and Troy Watson arrived into the country on Monday night to play in the O-League for Ba next month.

Ba manager Arvind Singh said they are delighted to have the three players.

“The three are very good players as they play in United States and Canadian football competitions, ”Singh said.

“The players have started training with the team and we are happy with them.”

Amal, who was born in Canada, has link to Fiji as his parents are from Ba.

“It is good to have these players with us at this level of competition.”

Singh said they are waiting for the transfer clearance for the players so they can play in the Vodafone Premier League before the team fly out to Vanuatu.

“We are hoping to get the transfer clearance of the players next week, “Singh said.

Singh said they are serious about their chances in the O-League this is year in order to represent the country in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf is optimistic that either Ba or Lautoka will win the O-League.

“The chances are good for the two teams to qualify for the Club World Cup.

“The competition format for the O-League has changed this year as for the first time, the competition will have quarterfinal stage, “Yusuf said.
