Bowlers Battle For Five Spots

Fiji Bowling final trials for women will be held at the Nadi Sports Club on Saturday.

Five women and five men will take part in the 2018 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast, Australia on April 4-15.

“We have had trials for our men and we have selected our five players which will be announced by February 21 by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC),”general secretary Abdul Kalim said.

Fiji bowling finished in 14th position in the 2014 Commonwealth Games for both men and women and aims to win at least a medal  this year.

“Our players have been working hard and this year we are hoping to achieve at least a medal in both divisions.

“We will start our proper training programme next week,” Kalim said.

New coach

Kalim also confirmed they will announce a new coach soon.

“The new coach will accompany the team to Gold Coast with the two managers,” he added.

Curtis Mar is manager for the men and Usa Kalim for the women.

Women; Doreen O’Connor, Elizabeth Moceiwai,Litia Tikoisuva, Loreta Kotoisuva,Radhika Prasad,Sainiana Walker,Sheral Mar.
