Fire Leaves Nadi Man, 65, Homeless, Tools Gone
A fire in Sabeto, Nadi, has left a 65-year-old man homeless.
His son, Amit Singh, who later came to the scene from Lautoka said: “My father has been staying at the property for over 12 years.
“My dad lives here alone and he lost some heavy machinery, and tools during the fire.”
The house was vacant at the time of the incident, the National Fire Authority said.
They confirmed receiving a call at 11am and two fire trucks assisted and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the next room and other properties close by.
It said an investigation was underway with the majority of the machines and household items destroyed.
Neighbour Osea Vakananumi, 35, said he was alerted after he saw smoke coming from inside the house and he called the Police and the fire authority.
