Fijian rugby players will have the chance to win  cash prizes in April during the Glen Flagler sponsored ‘The Fiji Rugby Masters Awards.’

Glen Flagler is the Scottish whisky company that will be organising the Fiji Rugby Masters Awards ceremony.

First prize in each category is USD $5,000(FJ$10,150), second prize is $3,000 (FJ$6090), and third prize is $1000 (FJ$2030).

In a statement released by the company to SUNsports yesterday stated; “Scotland rugby is an important part of our national culture.

“To honour this, we are committed to celebrating the achievements of rugby communities.

“This year, we are welcoming the rugby community in Fiji.

“Each of the finalists will be judged by an impressive panel of judges including officers from the British Army, and professional rugby players.

“Nominations will be open on our website from February 1 to March 1.”

Winners will be announced at the Grand Pacific Hotel in April with date to be confirmed.

Nominations should outline who has excelled and deserves recognition within the following award categories:

Club Service – for a member of a rugby club who has worked endlessly to contribute to their club.

Rugby Achievement – for achieving rugby greatness at local, national or international levels.

Sportsmanship– for showing exceptional rugby sportsmanship at local, national or international levels.
