Teachers Learn Better Planning

As teachers around the country prepare themselves for the new school year, workshops have been conducted to help them plan their work.
In the Northern Division, teachers at Labasa College attended a three-day workshop called ‘Students Free Day Programme’.
The workshop started yesterday and ends on Friday. Teachers around the country are also engaged in the same workshops in their respective schools.
The Permanent Secretary for Education, Iowane Tiko, said this would give the teachers ample time to plan their work.
“It is for the teachers and they would really benefit from it. They will have a chance to plan their work for this year,” Mr Tiko said.
“For the three days they will be planning and undergoing professional development.”
Labasa College principal Kamlesh Prasad said the programme was crucial.
“It is very much needed because the teachers will be more organised. They will know what to do as they have set down a plan,” Mr Prasad said.
“They are planning together for Term One to provide better and quality education for the students.”
