Divisional Police Commanders have been directed to ensure all necessary school-related operations are ready for the start of the 2018 academic year.

Chief operations officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu issued a reminder, calling on the Divisional heads to ensure maximum visibility to ensure students, parents and teachers are able to begin another school year and that operations such as school patrols before and after a school day would be maintained at all school zones.

ACP Tudravu said the focus would also be on the movement of people conducting back-to-school shopping and those returning from their holidays.

He reminded officers to maintain the momentum of operations, keeping in mind the need to ensure children are able to start the school year free of incident.

ACP Tudravu has also called on parents and guardians, teachers and members of the public to work together in keeping children safe.
